An ideal vegetable for winter greens. Extremely hardy plants producing tasty leaves which should be picked when young and tender. Sow seeds thinly in a well prepared seed bed 1.5cm deep from May to June. Alternatively sow the seeds thinly in seed trays or modules under glass at 13c. Transplant to their final planting positions in June or July 45-60cm (18-24") apart and 60cm (24") between the rows to grow on to maturity. The First young leaves should be ready to harvest from September or November depending on variety.
